"In the past three years, my life has been turned upside down. Anyone who knew me before and after knows exactly what I mean. Those who truly know me know that I am a sharp person, someone who notices every detail, sees everything from every angle and perspective. For better or worse, that combination creates a stubborn, highly aware character with very little tolerance for mediocrity. At some point, a dear friend introduced me to Attorney Shimon Peretz, who has accompanied me through the cursed journey I found myself trapped in. Unfortunately, and fortunately, once I swallowed the red pill (The Matrix), innocence was lost and I began to understand life differently. Shimon, in his own unique way - which at the time seemed far less regal and polished than what I was used to - gathered me up, focused me, placed me face to face with the reality called my life, and connected me to a world I never imagined I would become part of beyond the routine care of my own clients. I disagreed with him, argued with him as if I were arguing with the love of my life. We had deep conversations, shallow masculine and feminine conversations, everything in between. Beyond the legal representation and professionalism, he turned out to be a true friend. A man who protected me and my interests at times when I did not even know what those interests were, and even when I believed I was the only one who knew what I wanted and what I was going through. He told me the truth to my face, even when it was uncomfortable and even when I did not want to hear it. He guided me, made himself available at any hour no matter when I called, and when I got carried away, he put me in my place - sometimes explosively, and sometimes justifiably. We are all human. In the end, I have not yet reached the finish line, and sadly it seems the road is still long. But I am proud to call Shimon my friend. In the hardest moments of my life, when I would have sacrificed money I did not even have, Shimon, with rare integrity in a world with no limits to greed, never once exploited his position, even when he knew he could have demanded and received whatever he wanted. Shimon did not only represent me before the authorities. He also fought for me psychologically against every human factor he encountered. He presented and still presents himself not as my legal representative, but as my brother who would fight to the death over any matter concerning me. My feeling then and now, nearly three years later, is that he is fighting my war with unwavering commitment to truth and to the justice of my path, in a world where truth and justice often matter as little as garlic peel. Those who know, know. Needless to say, I was blessed with an arsenal of friends who never gave up on me throughout the entire journey, even when I was unbearable - especially to myself. From a small signature to hours of work deep into the night, they gave of themselves for a noble cause that was not even their own. That is not something to take for granted.
